The Story of Becks Quality Cabinets

I am Lucas Becks, president of Becks Quality Cabinets. We’re located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Pride Terrace, just off of Highway 41.

When my father started, he worked on his own for about six months to a year. We hired our first employee, and then it slowly grew from there. He always had a passion for fine cabinetry and the details in it, and to serve the client to give them something to make it a great product for them. And I, in turn, got started at a very young age sweeping the floor and doing a lot of different things throughout the shop. I spent a lot of time with my dad doing a lot of different things. That was one of the things that I enjoyed, being young, and why I put myself into the business a lot more to be closer to him.

High school was when I knew this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. When I purchased the company in 2012, there were about 20 employees, and currently, we’re at 48 employees, and we’re looking for more all the time. When starting a business from scratch, there are a lot of challenges, and a lot of time and dedication, a lot of different hats you have to wear.

There’s a lot that goes with it, and there’s a lot of parts and pieces that you need to know well or have a good team around you to support you. I couldn’t have done it without the team I have around me, and everybody is supporting it.

In our company culture, you say what you’re going to do and follow through on it. I feel that with Fortifi, as well, and it’s helped us grow with having that relationship and getting us what we need when we need it, and it’s helped a lot. They took a chance on us when I was younger and continue to do that. It’s been a great partnership to this point so far, and I continue to see that in the future.
